Smile ls1 bearings

Hi all. I'm new to ls1 country and have purchased a 1999 z28 with a spun bearing. Research shows that this is a common problem. What is the root cause of it so that I don't rebuild the problem right back in to it. Thanks.

its probably more then dirty oil. Just happend to a friend and he was **** about changing oil. I would guess either the bearing material/quality or oiling issue maybe at high rpm's

The early LS1 oil pumps (Prior to late '01) are known to have issues. My guess would be a lack of oiling.
