I've been hearing alot about 6.0 and 5.3 heads. Are the guys talking about stock heads off of a 5.3 or 6.0 truck motor or what? The reason I'm asking is because my dad has a junkyard full of 5.3 and 6.0 motors, and if they add hp, I'll talk him out of a set!!!

 

The reason for porting the 5.3 heads is they have smaller combustion chambers which gets you about 1/2 point in compression without having to mill the heads. You have to be carefull with the 5.3 heads though, because you can run into PTV clearance issues with aggressive cams.
