is a cam motion regrind worth it?
If your stating that cam motion would "re-grind" your cam, that would be incorrect. If your wanting a new camshaft, it will be a new core that is ground from the get-go to the specs you request, or you can purchase an "off the shelf" cam.
Without many details I am gonna take a guess at what you may be asking. Sometimes if people have a lifter failure or something of that nature that damages the cam slightly they will send it back to have it reground to new specs that will be close to what the cam was originally but the lift will usually be reduced somewhat for example. This option is cheaper than a new cam and should in theory be just as good as a new cam in the size you had it re-ground to. However, I doubt they would be interested in regrinding anything but one of their own cams.
