Default Several questions

I run an ls1 in my rock buggy, recently I spun a couple of rod bearings due to lose of oil pressure (laying on it's side). I replaced the crankshaft and 2 rods along with all the bearings etc.. I did not replace the cam bearings (bad idea) it ended up having low oil pressure (like 15psi at hot idle). I decided to buy another ls1 and drop it in there to run the rest of the year and build my other motor. Question one is: Who makes a good but affordable dry sump set up? I need one that will continue to oil the motor even on it's side, but I don't think I need some badass Nascar type system. It would be ideal to get one the uses an external pump in conjuntion with the internal pump (if this is availible). Question two: I would like to build it with big power, but lots of low end torque. If this requires a stroker set up I'm open to that too.I've been shopping around for a fasst90/90 set up for my intake. Will the stock heads be ok or should I look into CNC ported heads? I've ordered an oil accumulator to combat the oiling problem, but I don't feel like that is the best solution. Thoughts anyone? Thanks

It's almost impossible to say affordable and dry sump in the same sentence. Dry sump systems are expensive, but for your application, they would be worth it. You could use your block and build a 383 to get more torque. I wouldn't go to a 90/90 setup for low end torque. Use an LS6 intake with a ported, stock throttle body and a set of TSP ls6 style heads.

Yeah well...how about the most affordable dry sump system or bang for the buck.Maybe 'affordable' for a 2k-3k system, isn't the best word to use. So the smaller throttle body is the way to go for torque huh? Cam suggsestions?

What is your normal RPM range and where do you want the torque range to be..?

+1 On not going with Fast90/90.. you really need to pick head, cam and intake the will be more correct for your RPM Range.. Might even consider one of the Truck Inakes.. I am sure you can pick one up dirt cheap. Someone might even pay you to take it out of there shop ! LOL..

You should talk to a Head expert, but my thinking is to keep with the smaller stock heads and ports to keep the air velocity going in the lower RPM Range for better low end torque.

The axles are geared 5.38 the transfer case is geared 3.8/1 and the tires are 40". My rpm operating rage all depends on the terrain we are on ,slick wet stuff it's banging off the rev limiter most of the time in low range and tranny in drive (th350). Dry stuff it's pretty much idling along. I need it to turn up very quickly, it doesn't do bad in stock form at all (reflashed pcm, headers, free exhaust, etc..). I just figured if I was going to built it, might as well really build it. I need power from 2000-6000rpms and it needs to come on quickly. These couple of videos may give you a better idea of what is needed.
