Default weird oil pressure problem

at idle its fine (hot): 45
accelerating 70+

But going from a stop the pressure rises to 70 then for a split second it dips back to 45-50 then back up to 70. It only happens in first gear, 2nd-4th maintain steady pressure. Any ideas

Try driving down a straight road, not just off a stop, and hold your gear/speed. If you accelerate and the oil psi dips slightly right before it goes up, it is likely a spun rod bearing.

If everything is fine, then it could be as simple as your sending unit is going bad.

either way, I'd like to hear about the above situation.

seen similar events....

if its really bothering you, try hookin up an external pressure gauge. if all is well, then u know u got a bad sender, if it still does it, good chance its bearings or your pump is dying.....
