And I would assume your talking N/A only? With FI, you can take the combo you already have at least another 100 to the tire more than you were shooting for.

lol but you have a 2001, you've got rod bolts that can handle it. My 99's would laugh at me around 6700 as they broke apart and took out my bottom end. It's also a high mile engine so I kept it pretty tame, I'm not ready to pull it yet. Maybe in another year or two

Well my goal is to try and hit 500rwhp on motor and the go re-tune for nitrous and spray a 200 shot. But I'm using a Diablo sport programmer that is going to be programmed with two tunes. One is the 500hp N/A tune and the other is for the spray...Its a good setup that way because I will only use the bottle at the track.

As good as their engine building and tuning skill are, their web-site sucks LOL

They have been working on a new one for a wile, but it aways get put on the back burner when it comes to importance.

As far as my Engine mods:

Stock 2001 Bottom End had about [60K on the clock when this dyno took place]
Tuned by CARTEK
4X Ported 234 Heads
4X Cam
Fast 90/90
42# injectors [not sure what brand]
GM 85mm MAD
TSP 85mm Lid & K&N
Mizier EWP
Kelly Belle Boost-A-pump
QTP 1-3/4" Headers
TSP 3" True Duals with Dynatech Mufflers [to pass Englishtown Noise regs]

Dyno was through 4.56 gears.

There is a full mod list in the August 2007 GM High Tech on page 35

Hope that helps!

What kind of rpm do you spin? I have a stock 01 bottom end other than ARP rod bolts and even though I sometimes take it up to 7,000 I worry about longevity doing it all the time.

wow you ran a 10.3 with only 430rwhp? not calling bs, just thats impressive.
how did cartek tune it? was it done in house or mail tune or online send?

thats a good amount of mods. how are people pulling another 70rwhp to hit that 500 mark n/a?

not being nosy, but how much did the h/c package set you back?

Yeah a high stall auto will eat a lot of HP on a dyno when they aren't locked. At the track they're a different animal. The people pulling 500rwhp stock cube NA just WISH they could run a 10.3

Um.. If you look up you will see my dyno that says 507.9 RWHP I live 20 miles from CARTEK, so yes, they tuned it in house, on their dyno.

I don't like to discuss prises, but if you like to find out you can call Dave of Julian at 908.317.4496

My car has a stock t-56, not auto.

Yes I agree, A lot of cars are simply Dyno queens, you do not need a lot of tuning knowledge to lean out a car and make it hit 500 on a dyno. CARTEK is able to tune my car to hit 500 on the dyno and run 10.3's @ 132 as well. Wile doing all my own shifting, and driving it to and from the track.

Im telling you, this H/C setup is now proven to run well at the track. And the dyno numbers are nice as well. LOL

With ARP rod-bolts you are safe. SixSpeedsInc pulled their stock bottom end to nearly 8000rpms over 100 times.

I shift at 7000rpm and cross the traps on the 7200rpm limiter.

I am so tempted to remove the ARE H/C from my car and just call Cartek, I only have 40k on my bottom end. But I doubt my A4 with a stall will make as much dyno hp as yours with a 6M.

No I'm just using 500 as a rule of thumb My tuner will drive my car around for three days while hes tuning it...He dials that **** in dead on. Then he finalizes on the dyno. But for the most part I'm trying to make the most usable rwhp that i can, because Ill find a way to use every last pony

Who cares what it makes on the dyno though. With a A4 and a lock up converter you wont be that far off anyway.

But the car will be a terror at the strip!

opps. sorry i saw the 433 and didnt look closer. thought that was your hp. my mistake.

didnt know you lived that close to cartek. thought maybe just dyno tuned somewhere with a map that cartek sent you.

whats your a/f under WOT? are you using HPT to tune?

sorry for the questions, its just iv never heard of cartek till i joined this site.. im shocked by the number of 10 second cars that have their h/c package.

since your still on the 346, hows your low to midrange? do they really make THAT much more then the afr 225 or trick flows?

1 last Q. what kind of rpms are you at on the freeway with the 4.56s?

Thats a lot of questions lol.

I can't discuss my A/F ratio because I honestly don't know. I have been next to the car when its getting tuned, and I have seen them in the region of 12.5 to 12.4 I know Julio tunes cars to be very safe and it seems to work at the track. Obviously... Not sure what HPT is?

The mid range is not bad, but like most stock CID or stock bottom end LS1's it picks up A LOT with RPM. When the car hits 4500rpm it feels like someone turned on the nitrous.

I drive around on a 275 50 17 M&H Drag Radial, which is roughly 27" tall, maybe slightly higher, in 6th gear, at 75mph I am at about 2100 to 2200 rpm
