Default higher miliage oil??

well, i havent much experience with higher miliage lsx motors...i like using royal purple because there's an autozone only a few miles down the road and i dont mind the entra money for the few extra horses (i got an average of 3 rwhp on a dynojet) but i think that penz platinum maybe better for a higher miliage engine seeing as how it was designed with an eye on heat and stress breakdown resistance - or at least says it is. RP is good for performance but i'd like to take a little better care of my DD and strech its life out a little. is the switch to PP a good idea?? or do i have my head clear up my tailpipe?

i always been a mobil 1 man myself though my buddy swears by royal purple and it is not but a few bucks more . havent heard much about the penz platinum but i dont see the harm in trying .
the oil guru from a while back was a guy by the name of patman . he knew a good bit about oils and what they do . i mean he would actually take some of his oil after a change to a lab to have it examined to find out what levels where up or down . do a search for him and you are bound to find something interesting .
