Difference between correct tune and pro tune
How much difference is there between a "pro" tune where they hack the IFR and spark tables and a correct tune where you tune the VE and MAF tables as far as HP and Torque?
It's two different ways to achive the same thing. As long as the A/F ratio if good at WOT the power will be the same. The difference will come in everyday driving with better throttle response and a bit better MPG.

Nowadays a "Pro" tune is tuning w/ VE, PE, Spark, etc etc etc.
A hack job is IFR/Spark.
But given a few years ago without the software/technology we have that's all anyone had really to work with and was what the pro's did.
Either way gets you to the same result, but you will get more out of a VE, PE, spark, etc tune.

Actually, no! If the tune has positive fuel trims (most hacked tunes do) you will get good results only on the dyno. Once you drive it around, and the ECM learn the fuel trims you will be rich on the street and down on power. So a proper tune will always yeild better results and consistently ... rather then once on the dyno (for bragging rights
).
