I got some 3.903 pistons for my block, I'm buying rings real soon and getting my block to the machine shop to be bored out. I've read 3.905 bore and rings will not be suitable for 3.903 pistons, so I guess what I should do is bore my block to 3.903 and get some rings for 3.903 right? Any experience will be appreciated, thanks

 

get an oversized set of rings and have them "file fit" the rings to the bore that they just hoaned

 

So a set of 3.905 rings on a 3.903 block bore will do?

 

3.903 Rings for a 3.903 Piston. But if you cant get a set of drop in rings. You'll need to get file-fits rings for the bore and file them to get the final ring gap that you want. Take the Pistons to the machine shop when being bored. It'll be a 3.903 bore.
