Default cranks and blocks questions

Do the LS1 and LS6 cranks are the same? Do a LS6 block is different and better than a late LS1 block (2000 and later)?

Pretty much everything but the heads and cam are the same between the ls1 and ls6,the earlier ls1's had a different intake, and the 98 blocks have thinner sleeves
