Oil starvation?
Seen several cracked blocks do to oil starvation. Mostly back in #7 & #8 do to oil starvation during a high speed sweeping corner on a road course. and valves dropping in the 7 & 8s
Running a quart over helps most of the time. Accu-sump helps all the time. also helps with pre-lubing the block before start up.

I HEARD/FELT it happen (cool noises and strong lurch as the engine tried to lock up)!
With the "stock style" wet sump (ported high flow pump, baffled pan), I managed to spin #7 and #8 on my 388. At high RPM, the oil puddles in the top of the engine and can't get back down to the pan fast enough, resulting in the oil pump sucking air.

It's the reason I'm converting to a 5 stage dry sump system
im running a thunder ported ls6 pump, and an extra quart. i only run redline (a true synthetic, not like mobil1. i love starting this fight haha).
so far so good. going on about a year now with 500+ track miles ( 5000+ rpm the entire time) and its still going strong. *knock on wood*
It will probably save your cars from oil starvation during hard driving while running the stock FBody pan. I just picked one up for my LSX RX7 build since I need to use the FBody pan.
