Block clearancing for a stroker 383?

Block clearancing for a stroker 383? If I go with a stock bore LS1 and use a 4.125 crank, do I need to clearence the block?
I'll use aftermarket rods - probably Crower I's...
Can I just clean up the old bores or buy a new block (Uhg!)?

Re: Block clearancing for a stroker 383? first off....a 383CI is a stock bore (3.9") with a 4" stroke....stock bore (3.9") + 4.125" stroke = 394CI
yes...the block needs to be clearenced for longer strokes (but that’s not a big deal)....
I would have the shop clean up the old bore (+0.030" or +0.060") and get oversized pistons...why?
1) its cheaper
2) you will have a seasoned block (won't shift)
3) you get more CIs (+0.030" overbore + 4" crank = 388CI/ 4.125" crank = 400 CI
