I recently bought this car off of Ebay, and the previous owner said ti was a rod knock. However, when we recieved the car, the soudn was different. It wasn't a constant knock, it seemed to go away more whenever the engine was revved slightly. The engine will maybe knock two ro three times, then stop, then knock once or twice, then stop, etc. Does anyone have any previous experience with this? Thanks

 

I tried the search function, and none of the results seemed to fit mine. If someone could possibly give me an email address or a cell phone number that I can mail them a video of it from my phone I would greatly appreciate it.

 

If I was to guess , It would be valvetrain, maybe a lifter. However knowing how bad LS1’s are about eating bearings could be that also sometimes they will cause a inconsistent knocking unless under load.

 

i had a similiar noise but it was a sbc,still rods and bearings though and it was a spun rod bearing!!
