Question Lightest Hydro Lifters

Thinking about a new cam and lifters, which is the lightest:

LS1, LS7, Cadillac, Morel, other?

New lifters would go with a 23x cam with .600 lift, street / strip car

What are the cubes? If you aren't going to rev above 6500, you probably wont see any advantage over the stock.

If above, my first choice would be the Morel (because the perform, and are rebuildable), the second would be the caddy. The Morel are a little more $..

The caddy seems to be the best for your $$.

I would be less concerned with weight on that side of the valve train and more concerned with quality. The Morels are a little taller so hands down they are heavier. They also use better steel, keep tighter tolerances, have better internal bearings and a better roller (better steel). Worry about the weight on the other side of the rocker.

It's a 2002 LS1, 5.7L, M6, want to rev to 7,000.

For what its worth, I have the GMPP milled LS6 heads with the light weight valves. Thought if there was some improvement to be had on the lifter side it might enhance my "rev-ability".

I would run the caddy lifter in your situation. Its good to actually see someone whose worried about valvetrain weight. Paired up with a good single beehive spring, and the lightweight valves you already have will be a nice setup and should have no problems in the high RPM's

I bought a set of caddy lifters, cant beat the price. My setup will be ls6 heads with lightweight valves, beehive springs with titanium retainers, HS rebuilt rockers, chromoly pushrods, and caddy lifters. I don't know if you could put together a much lighter valvetrain setup than that for less money.
