I would never reuse the pushrods when doing valve work! Get new ones.

Now i just need to decide if i want to do heads or not.

Im really leaning towards plain 243's I just want to gain another 20 at the wheels and im happy. not 14 not 18 i need 20.

Think plain take off 243s can do it?

Its like Vegas on here! Some guys take chances and some take the safe bet.

First the lifters. If they go bad, you could end up removing the motor in the worse case and in the best case, you have to pull the heads. So replace them at a minimum.

Second is pushrods. Think of them as the weak link in your valve train if you don't change them. If you bend one you just have to remove the valve cover to replace it. You can buy a good set for $120. Cheap if some one is doing your labor.

Total your looking at about $300 in insurance!
Finally. I would find another shop!!!

Good Luck

I like your Vegas quote lol

You do realize you have to pull the heads to change lifters on these motors so it's not like the old SBC's that I and maybe you grew up with. Throws another modifier in the equation. If you are changing/pulling heads lifters + LS2 lifter trays is a no brainer unless extremely low miles IMHO.
