With proper clearances and oil pressure, there should never be any metal to metal contact on bearing surfaces. There should always be a film of oil between the bearings and crank. So there should be no break in time on bearings only.

Re: Replaced Rod Bearings, How long...
Using some of my knowledge from my Ford days, I was thinking about 1500 miles to establish a wear pattern. But, I have heard others say that 250-500 miles is sufficient. Any ideas on that theory?
So far I definetly like 2xLS1's idea.
