Default CAM

I was wondering which is the best cam to get to where it doesnt make your entire car shake but gives you some good horsepower and good idle. I just got my car about a month ago and I've put on exhaust and an upgraded lid but i'm saving up for a cam and I would also like some price ranges to know how much I need to save up. Thanks a lot.....

'shake' and 'good idle' r different for everyone... is ur car an M6 or A4?? that makes a big difference for cams... do u want to get the car tuned when ur done, or use stock tuning? that makes a difference... if u want stock tune and stock like idle, try the comp cams 212/218-.558/.563-115... if u have an M6 u could try a TR220(220/220-.553/.553-114)... look up thunder racing for package prices... i'm told there r sponsers on the right-> so look there if u see them... if u have an A4, ur 1st thing to buy is torque converter tho, u will see more performance from that addition... do a search, look around at what parts others r running, see what they say about how drivable it is...

TR220 or MTI B1 ----->
Or, (let the flames begin!) an '02 LS6 cam.

Tuning helps in any situation, no matter how small the cam.

I doubt he wants to lose 10rwhp in the lower RPMs compared to stock.

Basic cam swap from sponsors---> and not much more, I also suggest swapping to Ti Retainers when you do cam, although not needed good deal. You can get the TR224/224 .563/.563 @114lsa, get a little tuning done and no shake and rattle, excellent all around cam. Forge the shake and rattle thing and go G5X2@114----woooah pony.

Good-luck.

It's an M6 with the factory Hurst shifter and I plan on tuning it right after installation....thanks a lot for the info guys. Thunder Racing seems to be pretty popular. I appreciate it.
