Default How to mount a LS1 to a engine stand?

I just bought a AC Delco engine stand from orielys last night. Im going to pick up my motor today what bolt should i use to secure the engine to stand? Grade 8 what sizes? What length?

umm almost any bolts will work.

Grade 8 bolts dont have a higher shear strength so they arent really neccesary... grade 5 or any normal bolt will be fine.

My real question is what size bolts do i need 1/2 inch 3/8ths ect..

They are metric...I believe they are 12mm shank size. Just bring one of your bellhousing bolts into a hardware store/auto parts store and get some with the right thread size but long enough to reach through the engine stand. You should pick up some washers also...for both sides...the engine stand will leave small gouges on aluminum blocks.

The bolts are 10mm x 1.5 pitch thread. I suggest getting a hardness of at least 9.8
