which year ls6 comes with the most aggressive or best performing cam for a cam only swap into my 98 ls1?

2002 zo6 cam has 550 lift and 218/204 duration. it runs smooth (because of 117 lsa) has a 600/700 rpm idle. no lope sound. i was not impressed with my dyno numbers. there are several better cams out there, i wish i went slightly bigger. i called lunati, they rec (for a mild mannored street cam) 560 lift, 221 dur on a 115 lsa. also tpis has zl11 about 560 lift 215/220 dur, slp has 559/566 lift 214/222 dur , the board hear likes tr224 for an average med cam. really think about your choice. just my 2 cents.

The 2002 to I believe 2004 the 405hp factory rated cars. DanoZ28 told you the spec of the cam. With headers and most all boltons (pulley, LS6 intake, littletricks ect) the cars have been 6 speeds Ive put this in usually put down 370 to 380 and out perform on the street alot of the little lopey (popular cams small cams) I like it but there is better cams out there but for the price and street manners I really like it. You will out grow it more than likely but good starter cam.

If your gonna go to the trouble of installing a cam I would go bigger. A 224 will drive with nearly stock manners and give you a nice bump over a Z06 cam. A TR 224 is in the 560 lift range (if i remember correctly) and TSP 224 is I think is 581/581. They will pass a sniffer too if that is important to you. Several running this are over 400rwhp on this board and at least one over 440. Just the right combo.
