Default cutouts on duals with mufflers

Would i get horsepower gains if i had true duals each with mufflers at the rear and added e cutouts before the x pipe?

i would say no, cutouts are usually worthless on a true dual setup. it already flows very good and already is pretty loud. cutouts make their gain when they bypass a weak flowing catback setup i.e., my flowmaster. cutouts on duals are just kinda a waist

But my thoughts were if i muffled the duals then it would restrict some wouldnt it?
therefore cutouts wout bypass the mufflers therefore lil more free

On my set up I gained a tenth and 1 mph with cut outs on the end of the headers. I'll see exactly how much they are worth on Monday hopfully.

its just that td's flow much better than a catback initially, so theres not much to bypass, most of the mufflers that people put on td's are REALLY free flowing. just get custom made duals and be happy with what youve got. they will sound really good anyway.

You might get power if they were after the x but befor the muffler's. The x makes the torque with an x pipe set up. I actually gained power from open headers to the x pipe.

Seat of the pants just a couple of ponys up top after 5K rpm. Never ran it at the track or dynod it with open headers though. Thats why I think it would b better if you put them befor the mufflers but thats still alot of money. Theres a place that sells an x pipe that has manual cut outs already on that you open with wing nuts. But other wise your talking like 700$ for electric ones for a couple of horses. Not worth it imo.

You'll make more power with the duals. at least I did. cut outs are made for y pipes. a TD set up flows great and does not need it.
