Changing rod bearings with which ones?
Changing rod bearings with which ones? What bearings do you guys recommend I use for rod bearings? The reason I ask is because I went to O'Reilly's and they gave me Sealed Power Federal Mogul bearings and when I got them home they definitely look thicker. On the back of the bearings it said .010 which I'm assuming is the size. Well they still fit in the journal so I installed one set on the number one rod and it locked the motor up so they are for sure too big. The part number for what they gave me is 2555A-10. When I looked it up it said it was for GM V-8 but they are just not right.
Should I just go to the dealership and get the factory bearings to use? Or what manufacturer are you guys using and what part number. I don't think that my problem is anything else because the crank journal looks perfect and the motor spun very easily with the old bearings in there.
