I have two different style compstar rods half the set have the newer profile look on rod cap with the gussets out toward bolts while the rest look like most all others no gussets also logo is slightly different did they have a redesign or maybe some company might have made a knockoff with same name different logo setup.

 

Very early on(nearly 4 yrs ago) all of the Compstar rods were similar to most other available overseas made rods. To launch the brand, we started with rods that were available through our chosen supplier. They didn't have an LS1 rod available, so we modified their existing print. All of these rods had our original logo.

All along it was our intention to make our rod unique and superior by our own design. That took time, but once we were satisfied, the new design was implemented, and the old phased out. Along with the new design, our logo was updated as well.

If you have a set having both styles, somewere in the life of the engine, there must have been some sort of mishap requiring replacement rods. With the old rods long gone, the new style is the only available replacement.
