Engine Builders...vacuum pump question.
This is pretty low-ball, but I have a question. When using a vacuum pump (belt-driven) is there any need for a breather on the valvecover? Don't you normally use a breather on the reservoir?

Re: Engine Builders...vacuum pump question.
When you run a vacuum pump you do NOT want a breather on the valve cover - you need to seal off the crankcase to allow you to pull a vacuum. You will also want to hook up a vacuum gauge (valvecover is fine) to determine how much vacuum you are pulling - anything more than 18" and you probably will want to reduce it somehow (small hole, etc.)
