Default milling heads with an ASA

Im going to be getting the ASA cam soon and was wondering how far I could mill my stock heads before I would have any problems with ptv? i want to get about a 10.5.1 compression. im going to get them ported as far as possible while there out as well. I know it takes .006 to get 1cc I just want to know how far I can take them. the cam is 226/236 .525/.525

Why not just go with a thinner head gasket? Going with a
.04 should get you pretty close to 10.5 to 1 compression.

I have the ASA on Patriot 243's. My heads are milled to 62cc. I screwed around checking PTV for 2 weekends. I had a friend that ports heads help me out in the end and when he checked it he said I had a little more then .070 on the intake. When I checked it I had in the .050's. When I did it with my friend I did not really tighten the head I just snugged it up but I had him adjust the pushrod and what not. This measurement was with a graphite gasket and I decided to run what I had with the later MLS gasket that is a little thicker. So I would recommend the PP 243's at 64 so you have good clearance. I did not cc my heads so I am not 100% positive they are right on 62cc (.035 off the 67cc stock heads). I was kind of shocked I was so tight as I know the CNC LS6 heads that are made to go with the ASA are 62cc. My only other change was going with a 2.02 valve but that would not change clearance that much. I have not fired up my car yet but hopefully this weekend. Then I guess I will know for sure.
