dcr, info
what are all the figures i need to calculate drc. I have never done it before, and have always just figured scr. i dont know how far my pistons are out of the hole, if any and my cam is used (comp 238/240 at .050 605/609 lift.) Those are the only specs on the cam i have. I have a ls2 block (402) with the eagle crank, rods and je flattops (2cc valve releifs). I have not bought heads yet, i am still waiting for the engine to come back from the machine shop i took it to months ago. I made the mistake of saying that i wasnt in a hurry. I probably dont have enough info to calculate it, but tell me what i need. Thank you for any info.

1. Distance from the piston crown to top ring.
2. Diameter of piston above the top ring. This is typically .015 - .030 smaller than the bore diameter.
Many of the compression ratio calculators do not take these two factors into account; however, to accurately calculate compression these must be part of the calculation.
