Default Ls1 - Ls6

I blew the motor in my 02' Z28 this past christmas. It has about an 2inx2in hole in the drivers side and a crack coming down the side. It was wild when it blew wish I had it on camera. That motor had 110000 miles on it and I thought it was goind reall strong. All I had on it were longtubes and some other Bullshit mods but nothing internal so still not sure what happened till I tear it down. Anyway, now that spring is coming around I finally got the LS1 out and am ready to buy a new engine. Money is a little tight so I cant go crazy and I need it reliable for a little while. At the same time Im this far might as well put something better than stock in.

This Motor:

Just wanna know about the swap and what else I need to know

I got:

-Intake Mani (LS6)
-Camaro Oil pan
-All the Accessories
-DynoTune

Thanks for any help and if think you can come up with a better plan without going over 4000 in parts lemme know. I definetly need a block but I can use my LS1 heads.

Ill get pics of the engine tomorow.

I think he's saying that's a great deal.

$3k for a near complete LS6 is a no brainer.

Bolt your stuff on and go!

They have a number listed there for swap tips.

Let us know how this goes as this is EXACTLY what I plan to do if/when the time comes.

Good Luck!

I've been looking at the Crate engine aswell
All you need to do is like you said swap your intake, accesories and your F-body Oilpan and you should be good to go. It's also a good time to swap in a Cam/Springs before the engine is installed.

As you mentioned, you'll need to swap all the accessories, including your F-body crankshaft pulley (balancer), for the Corvette style on the LS6. You'll also need a couple of knock sensors and an oil pressure sensor for the new crate engine.
