I'm replacing my PRC springs with a new set and noticed the new ones are .040" shorter than the 40,000 miles ones. Does anyone know if they have changed the specs on the springs or do they get longer after usage?

They shouldn't get longer after running them. Could just be the variation in their manufacturing or they could have changed the design. I'm guessing it's variation in their heat setting procedure. The shorter ones will have less load.

 

I think they make at least 2 different kinds these days, when I bought mine a few years ago all they made were the .650 and I shimmed them for an install height of 1.760", to be within .060 of coilbind.

I guess it would be smart to shim them with .040 shims to make up the difference. Thanks for the info guys.
