Sensor questions

Hi I have question about the knock sensors, do u have to put anything on them before u put them in, or any of the other sensors for that matter. Thank u.

i didnt put anything on them and theyre just fine and have been for 25,000 miles now.never really heard of putting anything on them either. maybe someone will say otherwise.
