Default Good Mod Choice?

Hey Guys,
Was hoping I could describe my potential mod-plan and get some feedback including some cam suggestions. I have a 2000 MN6 with only a B&B cat-back. My plan includes LG Street LT’s w/X-pipe and hi-flow cats, Vararam CAI and a cam install and tune by MTI in Houston. All the valvetrain upgrades will be done along with a hi-volume oil pump, HD timing chain and an underdrive pulley. What do you think of their G1 (228/232, .588/.575 LSA 113 and X1 cams 230/227, .591/.571 LSA 112? I don’t mind a little chop in the idle but do want it to remain a daily driver and not have stalling or surging issues. I’d like the cam to hit hard throughout the rev-range and not just up top. Future mods will include an LS6 intake and a set of heads so I’d like the cam to work well with this in mind.
I’m currently deployed in Iraq and won’t be having this work done till the end of the year so I have plenty of time to research. Please include any links you think may be helpful to me. I’m already tracking LS1 Tech which has great info but could use other sources.
Thanks,
Eric

Good choices. The LG Headers are very popular and well spoken of on here.

Cams are a personal thing. What one person thinks is streetable, may not be to the next guy, but it sounds like the G1 is in the neighborhood of what your aiming for.

BTW, if I'm not mistaken, the G1 cam uses the same lobes as LG's G5X1...

Good luck over there. Return in good health.

Your on the rigth track... Either one of those cams are fine, it all depends on the tuner to get it to idle and run right.

Thanks for the responses. If I decided not to ever upgrade heads would a reverse-split cam like the X1 be a better choice?

You might want to research a few of the threads from this guy:

He's reporting a 70 HP gain using the X1 with stock heads and an A4.

Thanks for the help guys, anyone else have an opinion. What do you think of the reverse-split cams?
