solid roller lifters
1) What lifter are you using (company, part number, where did you get it, how much did a set cost)
2) Is it true that when you put a solid roller lifter in place of a hydrolick roller lifter, the cam "seems" smaller (like it has less durration)?
3) Are your cams ground specificly for solid roller or can you just use a hydrolic roller cam (ex: TR230/224)?
4) What rockers are you using (company, part number, cost)?
5) How often do you need to adjust the lash?
thanks,
Chris
#2, yes, my 242/242 idles like a 230 duration cam. Acts like a 242 up top tho. Lots of RPM.
#3, to take advantage of solid roller, you can run really aggressive ramps. So it's a solid roller profile. Not sure if it'd work with a HR cam or not.
#4, T&D Shaft Rockers. Got 'em from Thunder. Not sure how much they cost.

#5. I have 450 miles on the motor right now. About time to adjust the valves for the first time, I suppose.
After that, probably another 3k I'd check 'em. But I plan to have a different set of heads on by then. I'll let Thunder adjust 'em then.
