I have seen ads here briefly and at ebay for remanufactured cams. They take a stock cam and regrind a new profile. I thought this went out back in the 1960's? Original cams go through a process or two to make the surface smooth, uniform and hardened to retard wear. When I asked the seller about this I got no response. Buyer beware.
