What Bolt -ons do u allready have?...U should get long tubes. ls6 intake or Weiand (Holley) intake..prefer the first. U should go ahead get new double VS with Titanium Retainers.New Doubler Roller TC, Katech Ls 6 oil pump since your in there.(And the needed gaskets) Ur gonna need LS1 edit tuning. The Clutch will prob start to go if its stock, after a few thousnd miles.also i would recomend A Bauer (sponsor) Modified TB..Hope this helps.
I agree with NasT about the intake and headers, but definitely stay away from the Wiend/Holly intake. They absorb too much heat and rob you of HP, this has been proven on the dyno.
LGM will provide the following with the G5X2 Cam Kit:
REV dual valve springs (fit stock heads)
Hardened seats
Retainers
Valve Guide Seals (you must ask for these when ordering the kit)
Hardened pushrods
Additional Items needed:
Rollmaster double roller timing chain (SDPC, $85)
LS6 Ported oil pump (A.R.E is running a special for July, $139)
Ported Throttle Body
Cam install gasket kit
160* thermostat

If your trying to save a little money, you dont *need* the double chain (i think it's overkill anyway) nor do you *need* the ported oil pump. I'm still on my stock pump after 5 years and about a 1/2 a year on the G5X2 H/C...

You don't NEED this stuff...it'll help and I recommend the 160, since you are going to have to get the car tuned anyway they can set your fans to work w/the 160 thermo.
I put X1 in my car w/stock timing chain, oil pump, and have gone over 10K miles so with absolutley no problems. My car also has 102,000 miles and get abused quite regularly.
Check MTI's website for "Josey" here soon as my car is soon to be up for a list of what I've got for my X1 cam. The G5X2 cam except for the longer duration doesn't have much more lift than the X1.
DEFINATLY GO FOR THE DUAL SPRINGS AND TITANIUM RETAINERS!!!!!!! Best thing you can do and the REV's are actually pretty quiet. I got the Larger Diameter set in my car rated above .650 lift cause I had GTP do the machine work to fit those springs when they ported my heads....but for stock heads get the stock DIA. dual springs..you will love them.
Heres a few other supplies you might forget...
New crank bolt,
watter wetter/unless u live up north don't put antifreeze back in..waste of time
98's require new waterpump gaskets..get the 99ups and you can reuse them if you ever change cams again.
I would also replace the front cover gasket (It's reusable, but cheap and good insurance for no leaks)
I'd replace the oil pressure sending unit on the back of the block since it's CAKE to ge to w/the intake and valve covers off.
One warning...loosen the Cam angle sensor at the back of the block and lift it up a lil, I know of some people that have bumped theirs doing a cam swap and it went out. I replaced mine along with all the other sensors back there cause my car was a 99. I seriously would invest in all new sensors that are on the back of the motor just because of the age of the car.
Sorry to have rambled...good luck and keep us posted on the results!!

Oh man, I did not know that!
Glad to hear he is OK though
.
I suppose that he got his engine fixed by that shop that dropped it
.
If you talk to him, tell him I said hello and that my computer will not let me send the pictures he asked for. I will try it again in a few days.
I will be looking for pictures of your set-up
