That was prety stupid, but I guess you know that now.

The RPM the engine was at and the fact that all the cylinders have water in them says the engine is junk. I gaurentee it has bent rods in it.

I get what you're saying, and I would totally do what you're suggesting if I didn't pay out the *** for insurance on this thing I hardly drive, have a trans am I need to sell to pay off debt, and if my wife wouldn't kill me. The plugs are out, I cannot turn it over by hand, cannot turn it over with the starter, a rod is definitely going to be severely damaged. It went from about 6 grand down to nothing when it sucked in the water. I plan to pull this 5.3 apart and see what really happened to it. Guess we'll see... the adjuster may tell me where to go since I have a CAI on it, and if she does, time to tear her apart. Anyway, thanks for the advice...
Put a stock intake back on it ASAP.... That'd be worth a dealer/junkyard run.

Pulled the PS head off, found the rear piston is turned clockwise about 30º. At least one bent rod and the cylinders are all rusted now. Time for a new motor, guess we'll see.

UPDATE
Went by the shop yesterday to drop off the retuned PCM, and checked out the shortblock. 2 Broken rods, one was about 2" long, had the pin in it, and not attached to the piston. Piston was still up in the hole, and the skirts were in the pan, after throwing shrapnel into the windage tray. If you're gonna do it, at least do it right. LOL The new 6.0 will be going in next week hopefully.

Any guesses?

LOL I have everything to put together a pretty hot 408, but it's going in my 67. Just find someone to buy the TA for the cheap $12k I want for it, and let me get the 67 running! LOL The LQ9 I've got is still in the machine shop getting rebuilt and put together this week, should make decent power, just don't know how much.
