Is my lifter toast?
Is my lifter toast? i have the valve covers off the car now... I did a cam swap... 
TSP 231/237 and I noticed when I was putting my T&D Rocker arms back on... only one lifter of the 16 was way off... one arm on number 8 had 1/4in of play, with the rockers tightened down... and the pushrod is about 1/4 in further down than the other one on number 8 at TDC...
im screwed huh?

Re: Is my lifter toast? I had what sounds like the same problem and the roller had gauled sounded like crap. Hopefully you did not hurt the cam. you coulda collapsed one and it would sound like what you discribe check your springs first though.
