i found a 5.3 for 600 bucks with less than 100 miles on it, the exhaust manifolds have very little rust. The engine was taken out of a 2001 silverado because it wouldnt hold more than 40 pounds of oil pressure. so the guy bitched until the dealership installed a new motor. Good deal? If so i would like to fix the problem which might be a disfunctional oil pump, and throw in a few parts. I would like to get it up around 400-450 horses so what would yall suggest. any help greatly appreciated.

400-450 at the wheels will take more than just a cam and bolt ons... just FYI... on spray, mine was 426/506 spinning a little... look over on performancetrucks.net to see how to really wake that thing up. sorry to say it, but most here will recommend parts that will make you hate that little motor.
