Pushrod Question
I just wanted to understand a little more
Just the perfect pushrod length for my engine is 7.400
I think if I installed 7.350 or less I would get noise from my engine
But what happens if I install something taller 7.450 or more will the car start if she does start would it hurt the engine.
If you guys to explain thank you so much

correct pushrod length is need to insure correct valvetrain geometry i.e. a centered, narrow swipe pattern on the valve stem. it also determines the amount of preload in the hydraulic lifters.

Too long is too much pre load on the lifter..
Too short may create MORE noise.. GM didn't spend countless hours of R&D on this engine for nothing..
Do you have a cam? Did you use a push rod length checker? Did you check the swipe pattern??

New Stock bottom end Cam G5x3 morel lifters Link Bar Setup Patriot LS6 5.7 - STAGE 2 (2.02/1.57/59cc) I think the pushrod length that are in at the moment are 7.638.
The car starts normal idel is good but I did not try it because I want to make sure they are the perfect size. I don't want to damage the engine just because I can't wait a few days till I get the pushrod checker. I have only let the car running for 2 hours.
I just wanted to know would I still be doing damage if the pushrod length are longer then what they should be?
