Default Need some advice

Seriously considering a cam install this summer. I want a medium sized cam that allows the car to still be street driveable. (let me clarify that i do not want a ***** cam) MEDIUM...but not a TREX. i want obvious lope and moderate power gains...close to , if not just over 400 hp...

anyhow...my question is ... how much am i looking at spending with a cam purchase and install

also, which cam would you guys recommend to fit my specifications?

thanks for your input!

The cam, install and tune MAY run you $1500. The cam itself will be $380-$400. If you want driveability, go with a 224-230 duration cam with a mild overlap. 228/228 cam would be fine IMO.. A lot of people are over-camming these cars now..

I'm a believer of mid range cams now..

I have 222/224 @112 lsa 566/568 lift. It isnt a ball busting cam but it gives moderate power gains. If your looking for good lope, get a lower lsa specification on a cam. 112 or lower is gooooooood lope. I've seen cam only cars run exceptional times but since you will have the engine out, you might as well do heads too and build up your bottom end. Cam with install and tune would be about 1400 not counting the little stuff your gonna need. Fresh oil, plugs, coolant, etc...it adds up

I'm currently running a torquer 2 (232/234 .595/.598) but if I did it again I would've done a MS3, it's a larger cam but makes awesome power. I know of 2 locals that are running them and drive them daily, with a good tune it'll be perfectly streetable. The T2 is a fun cam though, pulls hard up to redline and runs strong.
