Default Valve lock noob question

i searched here and google and still couldnt find an answer

im going to be installing some afr 8019 dual springs/retainers etc and looking to get some new valve locks. afrs site lists 7 degree valve locks that come with the 225 heads which these springs are off of. im a complete noob to valve train and i was wondering what the difference is between 7 and 10 degree valve locks.

also any recommendations of good locks and sites to get them from would be appreciated. thanks

7 and 10 degrees are just what angles the locks are cut at if you look at a cross section of them. 10 degree locks supposedly spread the force of a radical valve spring better, but 7 degree locks are fine for street use

Get the locks from AFR. I have a new set of AFR's on my workbench right now and have installed checking springs, which means I have removed one set of springs. The locks that AFR uses are very heavy duty, much heavier than another aftermarket lock I am using.
