Default In need of input...

I'm choosing between these two cams: tsp 233/239 .595/.603 112 & tsp torquer v.2 232/234 .595/.598 112 lsa.

I currently have on my 01 ta dd: stage 2 cnc patriot heads (59cc), 224 .581 112, hooker lt's, ud pulley, comp hardened push rods, 160 thermo, ls7 clutch kit, etc, 12 bolt detriot true trac w/ 3.73's, lca's, sfc, stb, custom ds, spohn torque arm, cat'd y pipe, and I made 405 and 395 on the dyno with this setup. (Well at the time of the dyno I had to stock 10 bolt, et streets on, and stock exhaust still.) I'm not sure what it will run in the 1/4 either. I have no idea on any times it could get.

So with that said I'm curious of what gains I could see with either of the two cams. I'm really close to buying a torquer 2 so please give any and all input. Thanks. I am looking at ordering the torquer 2 by this weekend. Any guesses for dyno #'s and 1/4 times? I'm not looking for just peak power but power underneath. Thanks.

both cams will perform pretty much the same. difference would be hard to really distinguish.

biggest thing i could see is having PTV issues with the higher lift of the first cam.

both cams should put down 430rwhp depending on the drivetrain and tune.

Duration causes ptv issues, not lift.

Y do you say or should I say what are you reffering to when you say 430 depending on the drivetrain?

Do you guys suggest any other cams?/ custom grind cams?

PTV is a combo of both duration and lift...

but regardless of what "causes" it...he may be pushing the envelope with a set of 59cc heads (most likely milled) and a 23x cam w/ almost .6" lift

i said 430rwhp depending on drivetrain....transmission type, clutch type, torque converter, rear end....they all play a role in how much power the car puts to the wheels.

just reread your original post...missed the ls7 clutch and 12bolt...

so i would say 430rwhp is about right.

405 with the 224 cam seems to indicate the heads flow well. so possibly more than that. but it never hurts to be conservative as to not disappoint.

either cam should make for a mean street engine.

See I'm worried about ptv also with the 59cc heads but most people tell me I should have nothing to be worried about. My shop says I should be fine with either one, and they will tune it up good for me. I agree with you though.
