Default 2 Quick Questions!

Can a LS1, LS2,3 series engine be resleeved? I notice GM recommends only a .030 overbore. I have located a block cheap, but it has a deep gouge in it from a rod letting loose. 2nd question-will a flexplate from a gen1 block bolt on the back of the crank on an LS engine if I want to use a 200r4? I know about the spacer but is the bolt pattern the same on the end of the cranks? What is meant by a dual pattern flexplate? (sorry I lied , thats a third question!) Thanks, Scott!

You cant even give an LS1 a .030 overbore. The newer engines can receive a .010 overbore, but the older 97-98 blocks were only good for a .005 hone.

To answer your question, yes, they can be resleeved, however its a pricey and expensive process. Boring an iron block may be an alternative for you. They can readily take a .030 overbore, and with a magneflux or sonic testing, you may be able to punch out .060 over.

Not positive about the flexplat pattern, but I highly doubt its the same.
