Default please help knocking noise

my friend has a 2000 camaro ss auto with 26k miles. we were just driving around raced a little japper snapper, pulled into the gas station after, and on the way home we heard a knocking noise. we got out of the car opened the hood while idling it was knocking. do you guys have any idea what it can be. can it be a broken connecting rod. he doesn’t remember what his oil pressure was at before but it think it is supposed to be at like 40 at idle. now its like 15-20.:confused :

Could be a rod bearing? Probably need to tear it down and check it out before it self destructs. Stuff happens!

Do a compression test to find out if it's in a cylinder(s). If the compression test comes out o.k. then it's more than likely on the bottom end.
