Default V6 turned V8

Does it take alot of work to switch a v6 for an 8 (LS1). im looking into buying this cheap 98 camero automatic v6 and later on, like in a year drop in my old motor witch was an Ls1 into it. It shouldnt matter if my engine had a manual trany right because its just the engine being switched. Would you have to buy extra parts for the switch?

Not an easy swap, just a few things would be engine mounts, all wiring, pcm, and the list would go on and on. Also some V6 cars just have the rear drum brakes depending on year so that wouldn't be the best for stopping. I think if it was me I would buy an LS car. It will save you alot of work and anger, you will thank yourself later

You would need a flexplate.

With LS1 cars being as cheap as they are...I personally would not mess around with swapping a V8 into a V6 car.

I am sick of people saying buy ls1 car. If you want to do the swap go for it, I did. Its really not that bad. If you find a donor car it make thing so much more easy. Good luck which ever way you go.
