Default Should I use a new balancer bolt???

So I changed the cam in my truck on a 6.0L and I ended up using the same balancer bolt and I torqued it down to 240ft lbs. Now I saw that you should have a new bolt anytime you take the balancer off.

Question: So do you guys think I should change it or will I be ok with it. If it ever does come off I dont wanna mess the snout of the crank up cause then I'm lookin at a rebuild. Also, does anyone know how much it cost from the dealer? Thanks, Lee

i always use a new one, and this is the correct torque (the old bolt is only used to make sure the balancer is fully seated, then you replace it and do the correct tty procedure)

Crankshaft old Balancer Bolt - Installation Pass - to Ensure the Balancer is Completely Installed
330 N·m
240 lb ft

Crankshaft new Balancer Bolt - First Pass - Install a NEW Bolt After the Installation Pass and Tighten as Described in the First and Final Passes
50 N·m
37 lb ft

Crankshaft Balancer Bolt - Final Pass
140 degrees

The OEM bolt is a one time use. It stretches to acquire proper pressure based on angle torque.

YES get a new one. Dont ask me how I know, but they will end up backing out if you try to reuse the same one

What cam did you go with, I have an 04 with the 6.0 and have been thinking about putting a cam in it. How were the gains? any noticable loss of low end?
