Default Comp Hi-Tech vs. Magnum Pushrods

Hey guys and gals, I'm doing a cam swap soon and am wondering the difference between the Magnum and Hi-Tech Pushrods. There both chromoly, hardened, .080 think, and heat treated. Yet Hi-Tech's are about 40 bucks more so what gives. BTW I did a little searching and didn't come up with anything. Also If I'm not changing lifters or rockers I just need the 7.400's right?

I think you will find there is a big difference in tensile strength. The Magnum pushrod is the stronger of the two with a higher tensile strength. What this means is you will get somewhat less pushrod deflection.

The valve will open a little further and the valve action will follow the cam better. In other words you do not want the pushrod acting like a polevault. The less deflection the better.

Damn that doesn't make much sense, the Magnum is 40 dollars cheaper...?
