LQ9 Deck Height
Does anyone know what the stock deck height is for an 6.0L LQ9 motor? I have heard that the pistons are flat and have no +/- cc adjustment.
BTW what would the stock gasket height be?
Thanks

Re: LQ9 Deck Height
well, im not exactly sure the actual factory deck height, but i do know it is the same as the LS1. as far as the LQ9 is concerned, it is a flat top pistioned motor, w/ no valve reliefs and no dish/ dome. hope that helps.

Vents - Thanks for confirming what I heard about the pistons.
I am trying to calculate (& understand) how much to mill 6.0L heads to achieve 10.5:1 CR.

Re: LQ9 Deck Height
the stock gasket is in the low .050 range, compressed. i think mine ended up about .053 or so. are 6.0's just what you happen to have, or are you just set on using them? why not sell or trade them for some 5.3's or use LS1 heads? it's kinda a shame to use them for an increased compression application. either way, i've had great sucess taking .030 off the heads, and using a small BS cam w/ stock p-rods.

Re: LQ9 Deck Height
Thanks for the help.
I have a set of aluminum P&P 6.0L heads and have figured I need to mill them .010" or call it resurfacing.
