Default OK to drive 1100 miles without tune?

I installed a G5X1 cam, ported 853 heads, and LS6 intake over the winter. No one even close to here tunes cars and I was thinking about driving the 1,100 miles to New Era to have Mike tune the car. He did it for me when it was minor bolt ons only and I was very impressed. Will I be OK to drive that far without a tune?

I would look into getting a mail order tune first if your going to drive that far. That should get you in the ballpark. The G5x1 isn't a huge cam so it should probably be ok anyway. I think 1100 miles is a LONG way though. A lot of people go with the mail order route just to get the car going before they can have it dyno tuned.

Why dont you call him, send him the computer and do a mail order tune. Then drive it? In all honesty 1100 miles on the setup might help him tune the car, that way it will be half way be right, by learning its self.
