i currently took out my engine to fix the part of the starter that broke off and had planned to do bearings on the mains and rods as well as rod bolts, but when are rods really needed i plan on flycuting maybe some ls6 heads, and the occasional 100 maybe a 150 shot. would i need them with what i have or is it just for peace of mind

There is alot of debate over the wholr rod thing. do some searching and youll come up with the right answer. It has alot to do with your intetions with the car aswell. might take in considerstion a cam you may go with and how high it revs and such...And it goes on and on and on.........
