Ok i just bought a 98 Ta that has a knock. My first impression was rod knocking. Now after listening more it soundslike maybe a lifter. It does not do it at idle and starts making the noise after 2k rpms and kind of gets quiter reving past that. oil pressure starts out almost 40 at idle and after it gets warm drops to around 20psi. Now if i give it gas the pressure goes up. On the dipstick there are no signs of metal. But im goin to drain the oil tomorrow and see whats up. The guy i bought it from said it was past due on a oil change and starting knocking. Anyone have any ideas?
