does it make any difference which direction the oil ports on the side of the lifters facewhen you install them?

Some one else had worked on my engine before me and there seemed to be no consistent direction when removing them.

any help is appreciated

 

It doesn't matter which direction the holes face so long as the roller is riding the cam right. Now get back out there and button it up.
