New 408 offer
So GM was having complaints from Corvette owners about oil consumption. They took those cars and swapped out the rings and added a napier oil ring to fix the problem. The Napier ring has basicaly a scraper face to squeege the oil down the cylinder wall. Most MFG's did not use this style ring but the advent of it made it less money with more people producing it so now its usage is more common place.
I am looking for 2 yes TWO 418's to be built. 1 for myself and 1 for a friend we both have cash already. Not saying nothing bad but a company on this board already seen the money in there account and then let me no that they didn't have the motors they thought they had in stock. So i got a full refund. But i might go back to them. But i wanted to see what you have to offer and how long am i looking at. 1 motor is N/A all motor and other is Spray motor. But still want it very strong on HP. Thanks
Now just so you no. I have built many many big HP motors myself my last car was a Super Street Outlaw 68 Camaro weighted 3380 with me in it all steel glass hood and deck lid. Real glass windows went 9.30's on hp and 7.90's on spray. i just don't want to take my chances on a LS1 motor because they are a lot different than your normal BBC which is all i ran and built most of. Some stroker small blocks also but not many. Now i am not a no it all or nor clam to be. But i have built all my own and drove all my own is all i am saying. And i want to play on the street now with a fast car that i can still drive when ever. Thanks
I'll pm you and see what we can do for you. We dont like to bore the ls3 over that much we do a 416 instead but a 418 in the 6.0 iron block but it really isnt a power add application.
We dont like to see power adds on a stroke any bigger than 4" on these engines as there really isnt enough cylinder to support the bottom of the piston on the larger strokes. It causes issues such as eating oil and a smoking motor thats brand new... LOL we dont like to see smoke out of a new engine, not matter what it was built for it shouldnt smoke. Just the tires smoking is all we want to see.. LOL
What we can do is have a block resleeved though, we've done this for my personal build (4.135 bore x 4.250 stroke).THIs is for people who want certain things and have a budget for it. Its not for eveyone of course.
I dont have engines on a shelf ready to go, we build to suite the customers individual needs.
